Because of the Hungarian Residency Bonds Program’s success, the bond investment required will raise from next year. By investing into Hungarian Residency Bonds, foreign nationals can obtain a Hungarian EU residency permit. The residents and their families can travel, and stay visa free in the Schengen area. Hungary issued the Hungarian Residency Bonds with a face value of €250,000 under legislation approved in 2012. The program became successful at the speed of light. By the end of August 2014 the Hungarian Government Debt Management Agency (ÁKK) sold 1102 residency bonds.
