Hungary sold 1783 residency bonds in 2014

Last year the Government Debt Management Agency (AKK) managed to sell 1783 Hungarian Residency Bonds worth EUR 445,75 million.
The bonds with face value of EUR 250,000 each became very popular, in 2014 the official agents sold five times more as in 2013, in the year when the Hungarian government introduced the residency by investment programme. During the first year of the scheme, only 430 special bonds were sold.
The bonds can be sold only through Official Residency Bond Agents. Discus Holdings Ltd. has been appointed by the Economics Committee of the Parliament of Hungary as an Official Residency Bond Agent, the sole and exclusive agent of the Hungarian Residency Program for residency applications filed at the Hungarian consulates in Austria, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and the USA.
Meanwhile the face value of the Hungarian Residency Bonds increased from the 1st of January from EUR 250,000 to EUR 300,000. It looks like the increased price will be still competitive as the Hungarian scheme became the most popular European residency by investment solution for third country nationals. Very important amendment of the programme, that the applicants can by the bonds only from the Official Bond Agents, which have the exclusive permission for the applicant’s country of residence or citizenship!

There are no extra costs for the family members. Permanent residence permit of Hungary can be obtained in only 6 months. The holder of the Hungarian residence permit can travel and stay anywhere in the European Union and in the Schengen Zone.
Applicants can start the process from the country of their residence, so they do not have to travel to Hungary for obtaining the residence permit.
