Grenada is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination. In the first half of 2017, visitor numbers were 10% over the same period last year. The most significant boost in numbers can be seen for tourists from the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean nations. Alongside this increase in visitors, the popularity of the country’s investment program is also growing, and the authorities aim to improve conditions for both the country’s native population and immigrants.

Gaining dual citizenship of Grenada now easier

When many investors obtain a Grenada passport, they include members of their family in their application. The government has taken this into account, because now the background check is done at no additional charge for all financially dependent members of the family under 16 years of age. By comparison, earlier applicants were charged $2000 for background checks for family members over the age of 12, and the background check for individuals 17 and older cost already $5000.

Changes have been made to some of the fees involved in the investment program. The fee for submitting the application is now $1500 for all applicants and their family members older than 18, and $500 for those under that age. The authorities will process an application for a family of up to four people after the payment of a $50,000 contribution, and for each additional family member the sum is increased by $25,000.

What opportunities are available to citizens?

Investors that gain Grenada citizenship can now legally change their names more easily. To do so, they need only pay a one-time fee of $3000 and confirm that their personal details have been changed in their country of origin.

With regard to profitable investments, holders of capital are offered attractive touristic real estate on Grenada’s coast. Among the projects with great potential are the the Kawana Bay environmental resort and other resort complexes with gorgeous views.

As already mentioned, Grenada is becoming increasingly popular for tourists. This means that affluent visitors from the USA and other developed countries will bring profit not only to the country’s economy, but also to owners of tourism-oriented properties, and thus one can assume that investments will pay off in a very short amount of time.
